Moving your office from one place to another comes with a lot of headaches. It’s a complex process, whether your company is moving to another floor in the same building, going across town or even moving to another city. Amaxra just completed this often frustrating experience and we discovered firsthand how pivotal the Cloud can be in simplifying the process.

As a Microsoft Gold Cloud Solutions Partner, Amaxra’s business focus is designing and implementing Cloud-centric services like Microsoft Office 365 and Dynamics 365 to enhance the productivity of companies of all sizes, from small/medium to enterprise. The key reason we’ve been successful in this business is that we rely on these Cloud services ourselves every day. We receive email and manage calendars from Microsoft Exchange Online. All of our instant messaging and online video conferences are conducted through Lync on company laptops as well as on a variety of personal tablets and smartphones. We share documents and large files using Office 365’s extensive OneDrive for Business Cloud storage and easily collaborate on those files with SharePoint and Yammer. And we manage our customers, suppliers and consultants using Dynamics 365. Even our phone system is in the Cloud.

With all of this functionality existing in the Cloud, the move to our new offices was simple—well, as simple as moving physical desks can be. We didn’t have servers or storage to worry about, because they don’t live in our offices. In fact, other than our scanners, printers and conference room projectors, Amaxra hasn’t maintained on-premise IT for a couple of years; there’s been no need since we moved to Microsoft Office 365. As long as our employees have Internet access, we can get to all of our business-critical resources on the Cloud from anywhere at anytime and there is no downtime when moving locations.

Once the furniture was moved, we picked up our laptops and desk phones, drove to our new offices and were working immediately, without interruption or downtime.

Now that’s productivity. And you don’t have to be moving offices to take advantage of the power of the cloud.
